I am now willing to forgive myself … for making life harder than it is meant to be.
How difficult have you made your life? Have you made it hard to get ahead? Have you created enemies and challengers who are bigger than you? Have you set yourself up for failure? What stance have you taken in life? To what lengths are you willing to go in order to prove the rightness of the stance you have taken? Have you taken on more than you could do just to prove that you were right about the fact that you could not do it? Just how hard have you made life? How far are you willing to go to prove that you are right about how hard life is?
Life is not hard. Life is a process. Life distributes itself equally among all living people. While all things in life are equal, all things in life are not equally distributed to all people. We are talking here about conditions. Not the essence of life itself. Some people have a little more of this, while others have a lot less of it. Some people are given opportunities that others must work to get and others may never get. These are conditions. They are situations and experiences. They are not the essence of life itself. Unfortunately, there is a tendency to confuse the conditions of life with the process of life. When that happens life itself becomes hard to live.
Life is a process of taking what you have and turning it into something worthwhile. Your willingness to do this determines the conditions of your life. The process of living encourages you to leap and to fly, to run and to soar, to meander and to piddle, to embrace and to release. What you tell yourself about your ability to do one or all of these things at any given time determines how hard life will be for you.
Until today, you may have held on to the position that life is hard. Just for today, make a distinction between the process of life and the conditions in your life. You just may determine that what you are telling yourself about the process is becoming evident in the conditions.
Today I am devoted to examining all the things I am telling myself about the process of life!
